hydroforming

Sheet Metal Hydroforming

...Flowing Metal Rather than Stretching

The hydroforming process is ideal for any drawn part where low tooling costs, quick turn-around, and a superior surface finish are important.

Hydroform tools can be developed in a fraction of the time and cost required for hard tooling. Since the hydroform press acts as the female member of the die, a punch and ring is all that is needed for tooling.

The more complex the part, the greater the savings with hydroforming. Compared to conventional drawing methods that may require two or three operations, hydroforming can form the same part in just a single operation. In addition, draw marks from traditional methods are virtually eliminated with hydroforming which can ...

5-Axis Laser Machining

...Fast, Accurate, and Flexible

State-of-the-art laser cutting technology allows us to process flat blanks up to 0.50". This eliminates the shearing, circle shearing, and de-burring processes which reduces lead times. Clean, burr-free blanks supply our forming and machining departments on a just-in-time basis. With our five-axis laser cutting capability, we can machine the most complex shapes quickly and accurately. In fact, parts that once took weeks to develop and machine, can now be done in just a few days. Six-axis rotary capability further augments our laser processing abilities allowing complex machining of pipe, tube, and drawn shapes.

High Speed Machining

High-Speed Machining

...High Material Removal Rates

We have invested in the latest high-speed machine tool technologies to increase our capabilities and quality - all while dramatically reducing costs and lead times. These advanced machining and turning centers perform primary and secondary operations at speeds up to 12,000 rpm and feed speeds to 800 ipm.
This allows us to process precision sheet metal parts at hard tooling rates without the hard tooling. When it comes to solid machining, what once took hours to set-up and machine can now be done in a fraction of the time. High-speed material removal rates enable us to reduce costs and lead times for our customers.

Welding-Bucket

Welding and Fabricating

By combining our diverse capabilities Weber can produce complex welded assemblies in-house. Utilizing press brake, hydroform, tube bending, laser and machine technologies we can offer your engineers solutions to their most challenging design issues. Our welding department specializes in thin gauge aluminum and nickel based alloys for the aerospace industry and is pursuing NADCAP accreditation.

Heat-Treating-Bucket

Aluminum Heat Treating

Our NADCAP accredited heat treat department utilizes state of the art equipment to anneal, solution heat treat, and age harden aluminum alloys. The system includes a large 10' x 15' cold room for holding solution heat treated parts prior to final forming. This in-house capability allows us to better serve our customer's urgent requirements and is an integral part of our airframe component business.

P8150022

Metal Finishing

Our finishing department caters to the needs of airframe manufacturers specializing in fuel and corrosion resistant primers and top coats. Our skilled craftsmen are proficient in the required preparation, application, and handling of finishes on critical components and assemblies.

Aerospace-bucket

Aerospace Assemblies

Weber employs a 10,000 square foot assembly department to satisfy our customer's requirements. This includes welding, riveting, pressing, staking and all types of hand assembly. Combined with our finishing capabilities, Weber can produce complete assemblies from the component level under one roof. This complete control of the process is invaluable when lead times disappear and our customers need immediate results.
